Can I process aerial photos scanned from prints?
Yes. There is a pre-processing step in EnsoMOSAIC, that co-registers scan-outs into a common image coordinate system using corner or side fiducials of the photos. After co-registering the processins is as with any other images. The scan-outs can be from a simple table scanner or from a high-end professional scanner. Back

Does EnsoMOSAIC georectify also individual images?
Yes. In addition to a georeferenced orthomosaic EnsoMOSAIC calculates also individual orthoimages. These can be exported as an option, as individual orthos are not normally needed in applications. Back

Is there a university license available?
Yes. There is a non-profit non-commercial license available for strictly educational use only. The educational license allows collecting and processing imagery for internal use, but distributing imagery or orthos for third parties is not allowed. Back

Is there an evaluation license available?
Yes. The evaluation license allows you to process a real image block of your own, or test the sofware with an example data set. The evaluation license can be downloaded after contacting us. Regret, there is no evaluation license compiled of EnsoMOSAIC 3D. Back

Does EnsoMOSAIC process satellite images?
No. EnsoMOSAIC is designed to process images collected with any frame camera, for example any digital camera images and photos from aerial film cameras. These images are in central projection and the entire image exposed at once. Most satellite images are formed of line scanned data thus not suitable for EnsoMOSAIC. Similarly, data from aerial line scanners, such as AISA or CASI, cannot be processed with EnsoMOSAIC. Back

Is EnsoMOSAIC suitable for UAVs?
Yes and No. EnsoMOSAIC software can process images collected by UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) equipped with any compact or SLR digital camera, such as Canon ixus or Pentax A30. EnsoMOSAIC imaging system cannot be installed into small UAVs as such because of payload limitations. However, a special low-weight system can be constructed on request. Back

Can I do 3-D data acquisition in EnsoMOSAIC?
No and Yes. You cannot do stereo acquisition in the core EnsoMOSAIC software, but it is easily carried out with EnsoMOSAIC 3D, which directly reads EnsoMOSAIC blocks and sensor models. It is also possible to export EnsoMOSAIC blocks for 3D processing in external applications, such as ArcGIS Stereo Analyst. Back

Can EnsoMOSAIC handle partitioning of long and narrow datasets?
Yes. EnsoMOSAIC handles splitting the orthomosaic into manageable pieces (tiles). Common tile sizes are 2km x 5km or 10km x 10km, depending on the user application. The tile size is depends on image resolution and size and division of map sheets. Back

Can EnsoMOSAIC process thermal images?
Yes. EnsoMOSAIC handles also single band images. All depths are supported from 8 to 32 bits. Also 2 and 4 bits are accepted but there is hardly enough information content worth processing. Back
